UK, EU, Swiss and US sanctions issues often arise in trading and shipping.
What issues do compliance officers in banks and traders need to be aware of?
This training session will explain the principles that apply when dealing with sanctioned entities and vessels.
It will include an overview of current sanctions applicable to trading and shipping in Switzerland, with an explanation of the impact of UK, EU and US sanctions on Swiss traders.
We will cover metals, softs/agri, LNG and petroleum products/petrochemicals with a focus on Swiss/EU sanctions.
We will consider relevant tools and red flags, using system reports and including case studies.
We will examine sanctions in the context of insurance coverage and trade finance.
Finally, we will provide an update and overview of recent caselaw in the Commercial Court.
